Well, I dunno about shiny colors, but I find this one to be helpful if your looking for a variety of colors: http://www.immigration-usa.com/html_colors.html

Actually, what the human eye sees as silver, or other shiny colors, is not a solid color; it's got bits of shimmery things and it's usually slightly reflective . . . this is usually represented in 2-dimensional form by white dots where the light or shimmer is. So there really isn't a satisfactory silver out there in web colors. However, here's a range of grays if you think you can do something with them: (going from lightest to darkest)

There's where Lissa explains how you can make glowing text. I don't know how it will look with small text...I use it for titles. But remember - if that's viewed in browsers that don't support the code, it won't show up the way you want.

Oh and I almost forgot, if you do want to make everyone able to see "glowing" text that I just posted about, you can do this.
-Enter the code for the glowing text and make sure you have it the way you want.
-Load your web page on your browser.
-Find the "Print Screen" button, which will copy whatever is on your screen and add it to your clipboard.
-Open up whatever program you use to create images with (ex.- MS Paint).
-Find and click "paste", or Ctrl+V.
-Crop out the glowing text and save it as its own image.
-Upload this image onto your website and put it in place of the "glowing text" code.

Now the glowing text will be viewable in all browsers! :)
