When loading backgrounds onto a site and making a fixed background, how is it possible to add some decoration like curls and swirls onto the left and right side when the background is a seamless kind? I hope I made myself clear enough...

You mean you want to have only decoration on the left and right side of the site? you can do two ways to adchieve (sp?) this

1. make an horizontal background. Meaning, for 800x600 it would be 780px width, and for example 20 px height. Then add the ornaments on the right and left side, and save it. On the page you make it repeat and then it looks like you have a beautiful background :) Height can be different, depends on how big you want the ornaments to be :)

the other way would be with a table or divs. But that also depends on what layout you want to use. is there an idea you allready have?

Well kinda, i saw on this person's xanga (i forgot the site) but it was a nice fixed background and with curly swirls on the two edges of the screen as decoration but the swirls are really continuous because if I do it your way, depenidng on the pattern, it might come out like not connected but hers was connected so i don't know how she did it...

do you have her URL so we can see what you mean? it's kinda hard to visualize it based on what you're saying...
