i making the html in notepad and i already registered at geocities but how do i link both

When you log on to Geocities, theres a part that says "Upload files" over to the right, so you have to click on it. You have to upload your website from your computer to geocities.

I think I know why - most sites only allow you to upload files that are im gif or jpg form. I think that maybe your file is bmp and therefore it will not upload. If you have 'Imaging For Windows' or any other program like that, you can convert it from bmp to gif or jpg by orening it on Imaging and then saving it as a gif or jpg form. Good luck! :)

what i meant was uploading the file which is .html from notepad to geocities..it's not an image it's the html containing the image that is .gif

You can also make a new .html site right on geocities, next to where it says "Upload Files." there you can just copy and paste your .html file and save it. Hope it helps. :)

this is kinda dumb, but did you remember to save the file as .html? because I've acidently saved 'em as .txt or w/e before... not so much... heh heh...
so just check on that ;-)

you could always just do it the old fashioned way.. copy and paste the info from note pad and paste it into a blank page. :-p sometimes geocities can be complicated if it's a free account.. if you're paying for it they are a lot more cooperative. *lol*
