i see sites every day that have sections.. whether it be a personal blog type site or just simple updates that have a area where you can leave comments about what the person has just written and i would very much like to do that with my site. i update every single day and would like to know what others think of the changes i make without them having to travel to my taggie or my guestbooks..

now, i've tried looking over the source coding of other sites that have this feature to see if i can learn how this works and i'm still clueless.. i searched for the topic above but found no previous questions concerning this subject.. i'm not even sure if i'm posting in the correct section.. HTML? i don't know what else it would be.. i can't understand the coding enough. >.<

can anyone point me in the right direction? maybe a site that explains it in *great* detail? please help. i've looked all over the net and am still just as clueless as i was before.. i know it can't be that complicated... can it?!

this had great tutorials for those little comment things even gives good details on banning people and such if they post something you dont like. the tutorial is called shoutbox

i looked over the links that you all sent. sign-ups for two of the places are closed and look to be blog based. the shoutbox seems to be more of a tagboard type thing.. and one site was down.. :-(

people would be commenting on my updates.. the links to where people could view the comments and leave the comments would be in the date bar of every day's update.

well on that she doesn't seem to have any comments... anyhoo if you want an update format thingie like that you just need to make a little table... of course, I could be looking at the wrong thing, I'm not sure...

i still need help.. >,< does anyone have any ideas after looking at those examples that i showed? i'm just really at a loss.. i've done so many searches through google... vivisimo and metacrawler that i'm probably banned from their sites.. *lol* is it possible that i need some sort of generator? i know that people create their own guestbooks... it's kind of the same idea, right or no? hmm.. maybe not because there would be a separate page of comments for each day... they wouldn't all be lumped together.. argh.. anyone?

k, i get what you mean now... however.. I can't so much help... i dunno... i have comments on like my lj and stuff... but that comes w/ it... srry... :(
