What is Microsoft FrontPage?

Do I need Microsoft FrontPage if I use FTP and NotePad?

FP is a WYSIWYG editor...basically it does the work for you.

If you're procient enough with notepad or some other text editor you won't need FP.

*sighs* front page does have it's advantages, but u sound pretty familiar with what you use - you're probably better off with that.

IMO... nope, it doesn't. It may seem like an advantage IF the person is not wanting to learn any coding and doesn't mind errors.

if you choose notepad, you will not need to use frontpage at all, correct.

there are many types of web page editors out there. some are "easy" page makers such as frontpage, others are "text" such as notepad. depends on what you feel is good to use for yourself. the "easy" ones tend to make many mistakes in "their" coding.

if you like the feel of notepad, there are a couple of different text editors you may find nice too.

i like them both for different feature reasons.

which ever editor you use, you can always open the web page file in a different editor later on or whatever, so don't feel you have to stick with the same editor forever.
