Many of us have set up our own websites, and have been very meticulous in making sure everything is right, that it looked good, that it would be nice to look at, navigate, and so on.

But, I wish to build a site (sheerly for laughs) that is precisely the opposite. In other words, every horror that one could think of, or run into, will be featured on this site. Poor colouring, frame setups, bad spelling, l33t sp34k, you name it. Does anyone have suggestion on what do WRONG?

Strips... really REALLY small stripes as the backround... that way, everyone goes cross eyed when theysee it.

There's a lot more.. but those are the things that get me the most! Lol, I love what your doing! Lol!

Maybe some links to wrong pages. Like pictures could lead to videos. So it's very confusing.

And the navagation links different on every page, but the same text... so it is super confusing.
And to make it more confusing, random numbers and letters for page names like sr5hgsdf564.html :D

LOL! those are annoying! and they think it's cool too! oh, and seizure font colours, (eg. neon green, default blue, default red) umm... oh and as for annoying, link hovers that make boxes around links.. arggh i hate that...

ooooh! for background, and image that is tiled! like of a dog or something, and it's a photo, but it's tiled over a million times... (i had something like that for my first page.. it was so sad) mmmm... TaLkIn LyKe DiS... yea...

Yeah! The "Image hosted by angelfire" images are A-N-N-O-Y-I-N-G! Set 'em as your background! and make your font tiny and un-readable(well, barely readable...dunno if there's such word)!

i think everyone pretty much covered it... except for the music... (i have an mp3 playing on my site but you can turn it off!!!) anyways, other than the stuff that everyone said, make the frames not big enough for the document so that the user has to keep scrolling to read the whole thing!!! I hate that!

Hmm...OH! I know! Make ALL images and links scrolling! People will easily get annoyed......^____^

Make sure none of the subpages match each other or the main page (in colors, layout, etc) :D

Change the font every single page...or even better, in the same document!!!

Marquees. Marquees everywhere. Lots of free clip art images... the ones that aren't broken, anyway. Make the whole thing look like one big mangled free template page, and you've got one of the most horrible coding disasters ever :)

have lots of bouncing images [make it look like it was built with yahoo pagebuilder ;)] and use the no right click script!! 'cuz you know that protects people from stealing your source!!!! :lol: oh also, use some angelpie (http://www.geocities.com/qt_angelpie/Index.html) backgrounds.. those are great. and make them tile. whoo so much fun :D

EDIT: and make sure the background music is a .midi.

TONS of animated dolls and stuff in no particular order or pattern, glowing text everywhere, and those cheesy animated graphics that say: 'thanks for visiting'

A javascript application in everypage that says "Hi!" IS VERY annoying....encountered those already...gah.

Every one of those suggestions (I almost put "selections"...my brain is tired) are great; I want to see the website when it's finished :)

can you make a background of broken pics? like a background of red X's!! :)

glitchy animations, and if you make html siggies (bordered glowing marquees) leave the codes unfinished, and link to like 200 sites saying oh this site rocks! That can be annoying if there are too many!
Oh, and I learned this on oofun.com at the friend annoyer: make like 150 javascript alerts pop up before entering the home page!

mainly, huge, broken images. those annoy me so much.

Don't forget to screw up the targetting on frames. Like when the user clicks a link have it open the page in a small navigation frame with all your wonderful animated buttons. :P

AHH! You know those pages where the pop-ups come like 50 times? they're like "hIyO frIeNd!!" "this is teh l33t w3bs1t3" and like A MILLION THINGS POP UP AND YOU JUST WANT TO GET TO THE WEBSITE! You MUST have a BILLION of those!

Don't forget a sHoUt OuTz page. WeRd 2 MeH HomIez.

Oh jes, you also need a QuOtEz page. Quotes such as: "I'm LiKe A pHoNe, I lIkE 2B tAlKed2aNd HeLd, BuT iF u PuSh ThE wRoNg BuTtOnS, uLl B diScoNnEcTed!!!!111oneone"

Don't forget to make lots of marquees that go in different speeds and directions so you get dizzy when you look at it.

Extremely busy background, font like this - IsN't tHiS aNNoyIng - all over the place, in hard-to-read colors. A whole section on a certain type of food, like hotdogs, with mispelled words all over.

But when you make this so called "horrible" site what are you going to talk about? i mean you SHOULD make it horrible and stuff but.. then you must talk about SOMETHING! you cant just like say... "Do YoU LiKe My HoRrIbLe SiTe?!/!??" that wouyldnt be right... you should think up something to talk about... well thats what i think. :)

Make the font some weird one, like Joker or, better yet, Scriptina.
I almost did something like this once. I was too lazy to carry it through, though.

Javascript pop-up messages^.^ Try something like "H0wDy!.!.!", then "U l1k3 my k00l site??", and other stuff like "SiGn mY gu35t book. LOL"


You can also try adding small images and streching them, hehe pixels.^^

My suggestions: A pointless splash page, have all your content pop up in a really teeny tiny pop up, (like 200px by 200 px), 7pt serif font, an extremely nauseous shade of pink/and or make the text close to the bg color, lots of scrollbars (no less than 4!), a no right click script that pops up an alert, kEwLiEz TaWk, lots of useless javascripts, a huge, yet crappy blend or vector of some celebrity... okay I'm done now :P

u should make it look as if u were making a serious site though, u know, with a subject and all... :P
