View Full Version : Mozilla Firefox
Demented 04-27-2004, 12:23 AM Hello.
I just got Mozilla Firefox! It's the best web browser I've ever seen! Really easy to use, and it's pop-up blocker is AMAZING. I was using this Zero Pop-up blocker before, and that did nothing. But everytime I look down, it's stopped another pop-up! I love the way it's laid out too. On internet explorer, There were soo many toolbars below the address bar, and I didn't know how to put an end to them!
Definately, I'd recommend this browser! Anyone feel the same? Lol. :D
starlet 04-27-2004, 12:37 AM I quite like how its laid out and stuff...and its easy to skin it etc...but ive never really understood why people get so excited about tabbed browsing  but...it runs really bad on this puter, its so buggy and slow and horrid so i dont use it unless i have to!
Demented 04-27-2004, 12:48 AM Well, I haven't gotten to use that yet, however it seems it would have to take a lot of getting used to. I think it would be much easier to just have different windows on the taskbar.
kittycat 04-27-2004, 01:11 AM Firefox is my favourite browser, I love the tabs! It's so much easier on the forum to just middle click and open a bunch of threads in one window, rather then in multiple windows. Not only does it block popups but you can customize it so that ads don't show up either, plus other things about it.
The only thing I use IE for anymore is for viewing some sites and a few random other things. :P
Demented 04-27-2004, 01:24 AM Yea, I never view anything in IE. I use MSN Explorer, just to make sure things are aligned in both. It seems that my computer gives off more pop-ups then usual with my old one that died. Like, I would goto google, and there would be 5 pop-ups that go up [in IE], when there usually should be none. :confusion I also like that there is a google toolbar right in the address one. Makes it a lot easier to search for things.
salomeyasobko 04-27-2004, 02:09 AM i like it a lot as well, the tabbing windows thingy is very helpful.. i hate having a bunch of windows open :P
starlet 04-27-2004, 03:38 AM See, i must be missing something about tabbed browsing....to me....instead of having 6 windows open on my taskbar (where i am used to having them) i have 6 windows open....and they are at the top instead....whats so cool about that? lol
Neptune 04-27-2004, 04:11 AM I heart Firefox. Can't wait until they come out with the full version.

it doesn't take up all the space on your desktop.. sometimes i get confused with maximizing & minimizing things so having the tabby thingy makes it so that i don't have to minimize windows/open new ones, i just create a new tab for each different page i want to visit :)
Demented 04-27-2004, 10:01 PM I use the tabby things once in a while. I'm still getting used to it. I think it will help cut down on the windows in my desktop, when I have all my graphics programs running, and notepad and what not. I thought this was the full version? :confused
evil_styrofoam 04-27-2004, 11:28 PM im used to IE lol never got used to Firebird (Firefox)
lefty 04-28-2004, 12:07 AM I don't have Firefox, I have Opera, and I love tabs... I adjusted it so the tabs are on the bottom, so it's not much different than usual. ;)

 how do you manage with opera? i tried using it and i think it's one of the worse browsers around :P is there any specific reason you use it? :D

Demented 04-29-2004, 12:52 AM Ohh! Maybe theres a way to get the tabs on the bottum for Firefox *looks in options* lol.
Vicious101 04-29-2004, 01:38 AM you can move your tabs around i belive
and i use mozilla but it mess's with some codes ie filters also a few sites i goto it will distort the page
Demented 04-29-2004, 01:41 AM Yea, I found that out too. Oh well, I'll justget used to them at the top
kittycat 04-29-2004, 03:17 AM If you want the tabs on the bottom in firefox add this to the userchrome.css file:
/* Display the Tabbar at the bottom */
#content > tabbox {-moz-box-direction: reverse;}
And if you don't know where that is check out the firefox help/support links etc :P
kicker91 04-29-2004, 05:09 AM *hiss* Firefox. :P I always get hate comments because my layouts look crappy in Mozilla.
