Dictionary.com (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=resolution) has a list of definitions... I'm not real sure what you're talking about. unless you're referring to screen res swtycathy 03-11-2003, 05:11 AM oh lol sorry. i meant as in when people say in a website a "800 x 600" resolution or something liek that Sheila 03-11-2003, 08:37 AM That's is how big their screen size is. People usually state that, because their site might look weird on someone's computer with a screen size of 1024x768 Hope that made sense. pb&j 03-11-2003, 01:33 PM resolution is how many pixels size their screen settings are set at. basically it is a "magnification" setting. 800x600 means 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels down will be shown on your computer monitor. a pixel is a small measurement like centimetre or inch, only much smaller. 1024x768 is a higher resolution and since more pixels are trying to fit onto the same physical screen size, the images and words will appear smaller in size. those two settings are the most common these days. everyone has thier preferences on which one they like. swtycathy 03-11-2003, 06:42 PM hmm.. i think i understood it thanks =) |
