ok, hmmmm....would it be possible for you or someone to check my source code and tell me if I did anything wrong, or left something out?

The colours in your CSS shouldn't have quotes around them...
The opening <style> tag should look like <style type="text/css">...
You have an extra body tag...
Other than that things look fine.
