View Full Version : Joseph died...
salomeyasobko 04-10-2004, 10:26 AM joseph.. the littler fish.. died. i couldn't fall asleep [its 2:21am] so i went downstairs to eat some cake and check up on them, and i saw him lying there at the bottom while frederick, his cousin, was swimming around. at first i assumed he was sleeping.. but then my mommy came downstairs and i showed him to her.. and she said he was dead. he was just laying there.. on his side. i wanted to give him a proper burial but then i didn't want to linger on his death, because i was really sad. my mommy flushed him for me. i started crying
i know i shouldn't care this much, "it's just a fish", but it's so sad.. he was swimming around happily earlier today! it was so cute. i knew one of the fish would ultimately outlive the other but.. it's sad that he's the smaller one and he had to die. he was always rather frail looking [he wasn't too skinny, but he didn't grow very much] so i hoped that he would live a little longer than he did. i'm just really sad.. fish are depressing pets, it is inevitable that they die and its just so sad. all pets are depressing. death sucks. i'm never getting another pet again :(
R.I.P joseph [pronounced yoseph] :crying:
cutelilkittie 04-10-2004, 10:31 AM I'm so sorry! Joseph, we will not forget thee! (although I don't have any memories of him... yet...) Lets have a moment of silence for Joseph please.... <(;_;)>
Lissa 04-10-2004, 01:08 PM Sorry to hear about your fish :fish:
Tieto 04-10-2004, 02:57 PM I´m sorry to hear that.
I, myself, have fishes and I really hate it when they die. Because no pet is ever "just a fish" or " just a hamster".
But at least it had a good, nice life.
westernrider 04-10-2004, 03:36 PM aww :( I am sorry sal :fish:
*hugs*
I know they are just fish but it is sad to see then go. My family had, had this one mini catfish for 13 years and he died a few days ago. So I know how you feel. I hope you feel better soon.
Neptune 04-10-2004, 04:09 PM Aww, I'm sorry Sal :(. *gives big hug*
salomeyasobko 04-10-2004, 08:59 PM thanks, guys. you're all so kind! :o but now, i think frederick is ill too. my mom thought it might've been the fact that joseph had been in there [while deceased] for maybe 2 hours, so she changed their water for me. but he's not moving around like he usually does. he's barely moving his mouth, and he won't eat anything. and there aren't any vets for fish. *sigh* it's only a matter of time :(
PS, sorry about your catfish, Sophie. 13 years is a long time to have a fish!
tkdgurl927 04-10-2004, 09:07 PM awwww! im sorry to hear about that sal:( i had fish named salt and pepper and they were fancytailed goldfish. salt lived for about 3-4? years and then pepper lived for about 7 years! i was so sad! i buried both of them(including my other small pets-red-bellied newts & American toads) outside my bedroom window. i even wrote on a flat rock "Love" in a blue crayon and its still there and u can still see the word there after over 5 years prolly...IN CRAYON! lol! :)
Cherchezlafemme 04-10-2004, 10:01 PM aww poor fishy :crying:
 I, having 48 fish myself, can feel your pain. :( I hope Herbert and Skunky and Stinky don't die!
I'm sorry sal, that's really sad. I always bury my fish when they die.
My plecostomus Squeejee died recently, too. He was so awesome. :crying:
WHY FISHIES WHY!?
Owlie42 04-10-2004, 11:16 PM I'm sorry, Sal. *hugs*
You've just brought back memories of my poor fish, George...:crying:
I had a betta named George! But he's dead, too. :( And so is his dear friend Jimmy the guppy...
salomeyasobko 04-11-2004, 07:44 AM  I, having 48 fish myself, can feel your pain. :( I hope Herbert and Skunky and Stinky don't die!
wow, 48 fish?!?! how do you keep track of 'em all? my friend got her fish at the same time as me but i got two and she got five. a week later she came home from school and 4 of them were dead! it was very sad :( so i'm surprised joseph lived as long as he did. frederick is still holding up, i hope he gets better!
sorry about george.. and george.. and jimmy. =(
adrielle 04-12-2004, 02:44 PM Really sorry about Joseph! :( :crying: :fish:

Magln Meow 04-13-2004, 04:42 AM I'm sorry about your fish... I'm sure Joseph still remembers you in fish heaven! :)
salomeyasobko 04-13-2004, 07:17 AM ehe thanks guys! well, frederick is better now though! he's swimming around summore. i'm sure he just missed his cousin :o
salomeyasobko 07-13-2004, 06:14 PM i regret to inform you that frederick has passed on too.. :crying:
i am sure it has something to do with the fact that i left him with a friend when i went on vacation.. she changed his water [even though i told her i'd do it when i returned] and um.. yeah.. i am avoiding going downstairs because i don't want to see an empty fishbowl.
his funeral is being held this afternoon in my backyard.
RIP, freddy :( :fish:
weird girl 07-13-2004, 06:24 PM :( I'm really sorry to hear about that.
Shirl 07-13-2004, 07:07 PM :(I'm sorry Sal. I used to have a pet fish when I was 4 years old and I didn't understand that you could over-feed them...........
salomeyasobko 07-13-2004, 07:18 PM thanks weird girl & queen of the wise :o
that happened to me when i was little with my hampster :hehe: luckily my mom took over before he could get too large ;)
Shirl 07-13-2004, 07:23 PM I used to have 2 hamsters, but they escaped from their cages and...er...reproduced rapidly in our attic and we had to call people out to come and get them lol. :D
salomeyasobko 07-13-2004, 07:25 PM hahahahha  did you keep any of the babies?
Shirl 07-13-2004, 07:27 PM No, my parents said they'd had enough "rodents" to last a lifetime:D hehehe. I can't have a cat because I'm allergic, but I have 4 dogs :P
salomeyasobko 07-13-2004, 07:30 PM ooh what kind(s) of dogs are they?
i've always wanted a cavalier king charles spaniel but i think i'll end up getting a cat :D which i don't mind, cats are great :P
Shirl 07-13-2004, 07:34 PM In order from the oldest: Missy is my Dobermen Pinscher, she is 12 years old. Harley is my Rottweiler, she is 9 years old. Snoop is my brothers Pitt Bull (he's not mean at all, hes a sweetie  ), he is 3 years old. And last but not least is Peanut, my Chiuahuah, whom I got 3 weeks ago, and he is about 9 months old. :D
xstaticxpallorx 07-13-2004, 08:21 PM joseph.. the littler fish.. died. i couldn't fall asleep [its 2:21am] so i went downstairs to eat some cake and check up on them, and i saw him lying there at the bottom while frederick, his cousin, was swimming around. at first i assumed he was sleeping.. but then my mommy came downstairs and i showed him to her.. and she said he was dead. he was just laying there.. on his side. i wanted to give him a proper burial but then i didn't want to linger on his death, because i was really sad. my mommy flushed him for me. i started crying

R.I.P joseph [pronounced yoseph] :crying:
Truely sorry to hear about your fish. :(

salomeyasobko 07-13-2004, 11:21 PM thanks :)
my dad really wants a dog but i want to lay off of the pets for a while.. i need "healing" time :D
Shirl 07-13-2004, 11:57 PM Heheh, might I make a suggestion? My brother has a hermit crab:D Mine died two days after I bought it though lol. His has been living for 2 years now. It's kinda creepy looking. ;)
AiJahya 07-14-2004, 12:28 AM Sorry about your fishies. I remember when my goldfish died after I'd had him for two years...
salomeyasobko 07-14-2004, 04:45 AM thanks! sorry about your goldfish too :(
crabs scare me.. they remind me too much of spiders, which also scare me
aww you poor thing! and poor fishy! Yea i understand wut u mean. I have fish and it would be sad if it died! Hope you feel better soon! :)
4sight 07-14-2004, 05:23 AM Sorry bout your fishy :)
Shirl 07-14-2004, 01:29 PM Yeah, hermit crabs are cute when they are tiny. But then they get bigger and they are ugly and creepy looking lol :D
westernrider 07-14-2004, 03:16 PM aww... I am so sorry sal... I would buy you a new fish but sadly I do not know where you live... :buckt:
salomeyasobko 07-14-2004, 06:08 PM haha thanks! :)
we buried him yesterday in my backyard & then, coincidentally, i watched "Ghost" [the movie] which sort of depressed me but sort of made me happy :D
so.. at least frederick & joseph are happy wherever they are..
Munchkin 07-14-2004, 06:41 PM Awww sal.....poor little fishies.......
R.I.P. Frederick and Joseph...
Are you going to get more fishies and name them Frederick/Joseph II?
Shirl 07-14-2004, 07:06 PM I know a lady who has 5 graves in her garden. They are her 5 dogs who died, and above each one it says the names "Princess", Princess 2", "Princess 3"....all the way up to 5! And they were all the same kind of dog too! Thats kinda creepy if you ask me. :grouch:
salomeyasobko 07-14-2004, 07:45 PM yeah that is creepy..
thanks munchkin! i don't think i'm getting any more fishies, they're too depressing.. they don't live long enough.. maybe i'll get a cat or a dog soon! that'll be nice :o
Xaturna 07-14-2004, 08:18 PM Maybe you should get a turtle... no wait, tortoise? how to spell it?!?!?!? They live to a VERY long age (some of them, anyways) and they CAN be cute... ish
Shirl 07-14-2004, 08:23 PM I had a turtle once...he was pretty boring though. 0_o
westernrider 07-14-2004, 08:25 PM some types of birds can live 80-100 years :P get one of thoes... parrots and parakeets (sp?) will do :P
Shirl 07-14-2004, 08:27 PM My grandmother used to have a parot. It only knew one song though. "Bird Bird Bird, Bird is the word!" hehehe :D
westernrider 07-14-2004, 08:28 PM my friend has a bird that can whistle the Andy Griffith (sp?) song
Shirl 07-14-2004, 08:30 PM Cool! hehehe, that show was WAY before my time lol but I know alot of old shows that were before my time. :D
westernrider 07-14-2004, 08:33 PM same.. but I love it. You can train them to do other cool things as well. Like potty train... when ever they poop you put a tissue under their butt for about 2 months... then after that... when ever they need to poop they will just find a tissue :P
Shirl 07-14-2004, 08:38 PM ^ lol, i didnt know that...about the potty training. :D
Xaturna 07-14-2004, 08:40 PM *stunned* Maybe that's how you can potty train a dog... put newspaper there...
Shirl 07-14-2004, 08:43 PM My Chiuahua is paper trained. It has something to do with the way newspaper feels on their feet...makes them want to pee on it lol :D
Xaturna 07-14-2004, 09:09 PM *even more stunned* My auntie's dog (named MoMo, but I call her Moses, even if she's a she... it's because I feel stupid sayind "momo") goes at the newspapers, but sometimes, she just... goes. Maybe she needs to be trainned better. Or she's losing control of.. uh.. it.
Shirl 07-14-2004, 09:11 PM Yeah, my older dog Missy lost control of her bladder. So we have to let her outside every 10 minutes or so, so that she doesnt pee on the floor.
