OK...I have never been completely comfertible about giving out personal information on forums. So when I first came here I didn't feel good telling my age because of some of the things that I know have happened. So I have something I thought I need to tell you. I am not 15 :eek: . Yeah it is true... I am 13. :P. I already told lissa through pm and I talk to kicker about it through AIM. And they both seem fine with it. All of you are really nice and I have become friends with all of you. So it was hard for me to do this but I felt bad not doing it because I feel like I am lying to hundreds of people (which is true). I hope you all understand. I have not lied about anything else. I really do live in Austin with my one sister :P. At least I only lied by 2 years instead of saying I was like 25 or something heh. I hope you can all trust me. Then again you never know who is not telling the truth on onlie things like this. The ironic thing was I was actually going to tell you all this the same day Dan did the april fool joke about being a 12 year old girl :lolol: so I decided not to do it then because I thought you would all think it was a joke too. Haha… now I feel really stupid for all the times I acted like a freshman 0_o

That's Ok. Though this is a kid forum. I'm thirteen as well. Though I know what you mean. I used to do that in a few forums..pretend I was like a year or two older than I was actually.. CHERISH YOUR YOUTH! That's my motto. My birthday is in July. When is yours?

Its ok! I use to do it too. I use to say I was a couple of years older, back then.

We discussed it in the mod section actually, and some of us thought perhaps you were under 13 even.
However, I must say that your attitude has changed a lot since you first joined, at the time you were acting a lot less mature than today.

So did you lie about it just because you wanted to seem a little older than you are, or because you knew you were too young to be on this forum?

Well... more because I didn't feel safe about telling my age... now I find that, that is just stupid and I will be perfectly fine here. And I think it had a little to do with I wanted to feel a bit older :P

hahaha... yeah... I used to always sign my birthday as 1980 because it was easy to remember so that is they ever asked me my birthday again I would remember what I put... lol :lolol:

I was 15 when I joined the forums, so I didn't have to lie about my age to get in. Until I was 13 I used to lie about my age because I (not to mention my parents) was too lazy to deal with the parental permission thing. (My original Neopets account must still say I was born in '87 :hehe: )

But yeah, I can see how you would feel insecure about your age. It seems that 13 and 14 year olds are the victoms in a lot of cybercrimes, at least that's what I've read anyway. Not to freak anyone out... :eek:

I'm assuming that's because they lack a bit of common sense. A family member met someone on the internet who was about 14 who (in her blog) mentioned a ton of really stupid stuff, like her phone number, street adresses, they way she gets home from school, what she looks like, etc., and my family member comes to find out she lives in the same town as we do! It's really a crime in itself that so many people are so very uninformed about interent safety.

Since this is a kiddie forum, I was worried that I was too old to join, you know? I'm not though. I am only 16. There are a few that are older than me.
