Hello guys,

Does anyone konw how this website :www.phrozenflame.com (http://www.phrozenflame.com) does that so called middle frame or whateva you call it?

You know, the one where all the news goes on the website... I hope you all understand me. My Question: What do you call that middle section of the website and what code can I use to make something like that?

Thanks

They use CSS...I think...and you'd just need to read Lissa's explanation of CSS and you might get something close to it if you play with colors...

if you are referring to the overall layout, how there are 3 columns of information, then it is a TABLE.

it's still a table :)

they just made little boxes, sliced them up, put in the table and then put the blue (background) part as a background in the table and add the text into that cell

the middle section of the table at www.phrozenflame.com, its steel blue in colour where all the wording goes, it is very nice, so how do you get something like that?
the TABLE used this css style code for the background color...
style="background-color: #214457;"

for the parts where the "titles" are and they look like a blue bar...
7/4/04 - Downtime
4/4/04 - a random update.
that is done with a background image applyed to a table cell and the text is in the table cell.
these parts are done in seperate tables within the main blue table.

if you view their source coding, you can probably figure out how they pieced it all together.

well hello...

lol if you wanted to know how to do that, you could simply have asked me (either email or posting on my forum). btw, i am the webmaster of no advertising please. i found this place when i was looking at the referer statistics for traffic. anyways bak 2 the topic.

as some people have mentioned, yes it is done with tables and css. thats all it is apart from simple html for the layout as such. but theres much more than that that you cant see. the page is dynamic, using php and a mysql database for storage. that center bit is generated with each news item. bascailly it gets that part of the table, inserts the text, heading and picture and puts in there. any other questions?

Sheila doesn't have problems. You just didn't read the rules of the forum. :)

It's rule number one.

sheila doesn't have problems, you just need to read the rules (http://www.lissaexplains.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3186)! [then again, phrozenflame was the site thejermyn asked about] but.. don't be mean to the mods :D

EDIT: sorry, i was beat to it.

im not advertising my site, i was speaking in reference to the topic of this thread in which my site is being used as the main example. "No get rich quick schemes, paid to surf ads etc, link exchanges, webrings, no charity ads". my site belongs to none of those, infact i have but 1 advertisement (google adwords one) on my entire site. and im not being mean to the mods, i was simply stating that i see no reasoning behind the edits. if he/she took it as an offence, i apologize.

one more thing 2 add to the topic, the navigation buttons at the top of the table/news section is just a flash clip with lines that act as the border for the table.

then say, i'm the webmaster of the site spoken of... no links of your own site is allowed on the forum, that's the rules that are set forth.
