So i know for a lot of people the end of the school year is near, and also for a lot report cards have recently come. So how did you all do?

I gotz mine today. :D I got a 3.5 GPA on the money. I got an A in - World History, Critical Reading and Writing, Band; a B+ in Algebra 2; a B in Physics, and a B- In Programming In Java.
This was my best report of high school so far, my last one over 3.5 was in 8th grade when i got 3.8 all year long, lol. So anywayz parents happy, my lowest ever was a 3.2 I never have anything to worry about. Im going for a 3.5 again for the last quarter, if I get 3 in a row 3.5 better I get my Academics letter, and I think its 2 in a row to be able to join National Honors Society. If I get that far I wont have rooom on my varisty jacket for it!!!! :eek: I already have Concert Band, Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band, and over the summer I have to add Pit Band, and Wind Ensemble. So thats 6 and I think the most that there is room for is 7 without being over-crowded lol.....

I have noticed no one ever really talks about school here even though so many are in school that come here, kinda weird :/ Maybe this will last

I got 3.7, all A's but computer class. That really ticked me off especially a C. It was because I didn't use class time effieciently, well kinda hard to do anything when there is nothing to do (and two of the rule that makes this impossible is no complaining-asking for things to do and must be busy at all time)

i have all A's at the moment, [well i have an A-- in geometry]. math is usually the only subject i ever get a B in. [my math grade used to be an 89.1 but my teacher said that, since i had good behavior, she'd raise it to a low A :P]

next year i'm going to die though. my mommy made me take really hard classes. i should've taken off roll at least one period one semester.. because you only need to take 3 classes [most highschools have 6 classes]. but i'm taking 4 both semesters :eek: and arg.. i'm doing water polo & swim & key club & speech & debate too. so i'm gonna have to work hard. that means less LEIA :crying:

anyway, this is my schedule for next year:

2) french 1-2 (wee it'll be easy :D)

... i got mine back a few weeks ago. i didn't do well... lol. haha. i don't quite get ur GPAs... is it like based on a 1,2,3,4 level and they avg it? haha. our system is so retarded. they try to give you levels 1-4 but they still use percents in the end making it impossible to get 100 anymore... lol. before it wasn't hard to get a 100 in french.

newyas. i got an 86.8% avg. (but i like to say 87 lol) stupid marks. most marks went down except for science and it wasn't even worth my time or effort. i tihnk he (sci teacher) hates me. :( i thought i did so well in french, i was participating and was the only person who cared about french, and i get an 87 in french. that idiot. lol. i'm ok with getting 80s, because THAT IS a good mark, but i can't stand getting 80s in a subject i'm good at. like geography. it was my favourite subject and she (geo teacher) gives me an 88. stoopid. big surprises are: a 92 in music (wow!) and a 78 in dance (well i can't dance) omg. 78 is so close to an a. i thaought that was amazing. i was expecting more like a 60. well. overall my averages are bad this year. hhaa. i also did bad in math i tihnk i got an 89 math avg (we get up to 5 different math marks per term). my best mark this term was in music (92). (THAT IS SO FRUSTRATING!) omg. i usually get some crazy math mark to boost things up but that didn't happen.

last year (gr7) it was 89-->91-->93
this year (gr8) its 89-->87 ech.. lol. (i'm a perfectionist that isn't quite perfect) i can't wait till high school next year :):):):) till then, i'm aiming for a 90 at least. it'll probably be hard... with this new school system (i moved) and a bunch of teachers that hate me lol.

Ham_let, thats the same as me with the levels 1-4 stuffs. My french teacher hates me, and she hates everyone else in the school for that matter :stickout: so I always get something like a 80 in french *rolls eyes*

Here it's just percents and you get a R/5 (1 is best, 5 is worst) comparing your mark to the rest of the class. I'm not going to tell my marks. All I can say is I used to be a top student, but now I have some problems (not academic) that is making it harder for me to get good grades. Just to give you an idea: my average used to be around 88 or so, and this term it's 71.5%. Ex. In history I had 95, and now I have 56 :eek: (and here a pass is a 60). I can't concentrate, or retain info. Hopefully I will have improved before the finals!

I got a 2.667..my worst grades ever :p I got an A in computer skills, a c- in history and a c+ in drama. We're on a block schedule, so we only have 4 classes per term, and first period I'm a TA and that's just a pass/fail grade.

I don't get my mid-term report for another 2 weeks, but I know that my approximate marks are this:
French - 85
Programming - 99
Chemistry - 90
Calculus - 90

The programming mark makes up for French, that class is sooo easy. Hoping on improving the calculus and french marks before the end of the year, chemistry I'll be working just to keep it at that (evil teacher...)

my average grade [for all my classes] is a 95%.. what GPA would that be?

heh, i had to take PE last year, its required here, along with several other classes...my only 3 A's were 98%, 100%, and 120%(lol) sad but true in world history, last quarter i got a 71% in there, hehe :D ......

Eh...really don't want to talk about me grades. :( Really, I think my grades are due to the fact that I've been in and out of the hospital all year. I've only got a month and a half of school left. I think. And Iam only passing one class because of the way that my school is. I called from the hospital each time, to see if I could get my work brought to me - and they would get it from my teachers, but someone had to pick it up for me. Particularly, my dad. And he works, and couldn't pick it up for me...so...but I am fed up with the school here anyway.

My report card came last week [I think]. We have block scheduling, but it's an A day and B day thing. Each day has four classes that are 87 minutes long.

A day classes:
Literature and Composition II - B
Geometry - C [I hate Geometry so much, and I never do my homework :lol:]
Journalism I - B
Sculpture - A+

B day classes:
Biology - B
Student Resource Time - S [S {satisfactory} is passing for SRT {a really long study hall}]
French II - C [I suck at French, haha]
Drawing and Painting - A

I love how the only classes I get A's in are my art classes. :rolleyes: Oh well, I'm bringing my grades up. Right now, I think I'm ranked 87 out of arond 300 students in my sophomore class, so I guess I'm doing alright. :D

my marking period ends next Friday, so I haven't gotten a report card yet. and i hate my school's progress reports (which they send out at mid-marking period), because they only give 5 point ranges for your average, if the teacher puts one at all.

last I heard (before new ranks came out), I was 53 out of 651 in my class- that's probably gone down because I haven't been doing particularly well this year because I've been out a lot...

hamlet (I think it was you who asked) GPAs are calculated in different ways. AT my school, straight A's is a 4.0, which is what I have. One B drops it to like a 3.8 i think.

Next year, our grades will be weighted, meaning any AP classes get multiplyed by 1.25 and honors classes by 1.125. So straight A's all honors would be a 5 something I think.

And since people are doing percents, ok why not

English College Prep: 100%
Honors Earth and Space Science: 10_% (something more than 100)
Gym/Health: 100%
AP Comparative Government: 98%

last i knew in the middle of february i was ranked like 130 of 680, and i just did better than i normally have. im hoping 4th quarter i can hit 100 :)...i need to ask for my transcript to find out so...
