i'm making a layout in psp7 and i need to insert an image into it but whenever i go to open the image it opens in a new box and whenever i just try to paste it on there, it still opens in a new box.. so how do i insert an image in an image... do you understand that??? thanks for any help ya'll might have... katie

Ctrl-L once you've copied the image you want to paste

or

[edit][paste][as new layer]

okay i went and i tried to paste it as a new layer, but when i went, it was like in that grey color to where you can't click on it... so what do i need to do?? when i went to another box and i tried to paste it as a new layer there it worked... so what do i need to do in my layout image???

What i always do to past a new layer is just this:

- copy the image you want as a new layer in anothe rimage.
- then get the image in front of you where you want to add an image on top as a new layer
- then click with your right mouse button on the "blue" (if you have the original windows colours set) part where also the title appears of the image and click on "paste as new layer"

if this doesn't work then make sure you have flattened your layers from the image where you want to add an layer on top. go to layers > merge > merge all

if this doesn't work, thenn could it be that your image is greyscaled or has transparent parts in it? because then the colors are limited and then you also have less options with pasting other images on top of it.

nope still didnt work and i flattened the images , how do i tell if its a greyscale???

if you choosed "colors > greyscale" then the image will become black&white colors.

no i didnt do that, it is still in color... i was able to just paste as a new selection, but then that messed up the picture....
