All right, I am attempting to make my own layout for the first time. I've spent all day looking through varioius tutorials for blends and such, but I still am having trouble. What I'm trying to do is cut out just the people in the picture, eliminating the background and then paste those images onto a background I've created. My questions are:

1. How do you outline a specific object/person in a picture?

2. How do you make the edges of the object/person look blured?

3. I have the 'free trial' verson of PSP 8. Can I download brushes from the internet? How do you make your own brushes? And how do you use them?

The last question in #3: when I tried to use the default brush that came with this version of PSP8, what I was trying to draw wouldn't show up. So I'm a bit confused with that.

I'd greatly appreciate any/all input.

1. Use the Magic Wand (or the button that looks like a magic wand) > click the background > Delete > Repeat until background is gone.

2. Use the blur tool in a low strength or flow.

3. Yes, you can download brushes from the internet.

use the lasso selection tool and use it to select around the people, so just they are selected. Also make sure you are on the right layer

then open up the new image after you have got the people copied and paste them in

this should be an easy task, but it is hard when first starting ;)
