ok i feel stupid for asking but whats a cgi-bin? I just got hosted and I was wondering. Do you put your pages & files in them? Please help me...

You would put files for CGI/Perl scripts (things like guestbooks etc) in there. Don't put any of your regular files inside it or else they won't show up ;)

o0o ic. like if I were to get PHPfanbase for the fanlisting I would put it in there?

Not exactly, PHP scripts can go in the main directory. The /cgi-bin is for CGI files (eg. Greymatter).

Well as long as your host supports php.CGI is for the binary stuff

hm..do you have to put megabook and greymatter stuff in the cgi-bin? cuz i didn't :P but they're working..or do they work better in there..?

Depends on the host, some require cgi scripts go in the cgi-bin others dont. If it works you should be ok, although there may be a reason you should put it in the cgi-bin anyway but if there is i dont know it :P

lol..alright. well i suppose i'll find out one day..actually i've had some problems w/ greymatter..but i've always managed to fix them..hmm
