My wife is addicted to Neopets!!!

ARGGGH!!! Anyone got anything I can get so that I can cure her of this latest craze?!?

Or will I have to wait 5-10 years before it dies out like the last one did?

"No children, mommy is just busy making her latest concoctions. No Jonas, you may not have a minty bruce muffin." LOL

Try finding something else to consume her time...i.e. making a website, if she likes it she'll get off neopets and do that (it worked with me when i started my new layout)...if you want it to be off the computer, find something like cooking/sewing/pottery or you could just do certain club type things together...in other words get her addicted to something else... :)

Take away the internet? That's what my dad does...though I don't think that would work too well. It depends on how addicted she can get to something. If she can get pretty addicted, then it could take a while, but if she goes through addictions fairly quickly, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Also, you can always talk to her if it becomes a problem. Ask her to limit the amount of time she spends on Neopets to a set time, like 2 hours or something.

And if nothing works, as the saying goes, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. ;)

Well, it's weird, that's all. She makes references to things she gets and I have no clue, and I'm not into these kind of games anyway. Just RPG and some acing adventure/fighting games. I should point out that I'm not actually complaining, I just thought you guys might have a light-hearted suggestion (or something funny) to add.

As for taking away the internet...WHAT ARE YOU NUTZ?!? ROFLMBO!!! :froggie2:

April would kill me for sure!

Well, something else just occurred to me: These games are somewhat educational, riggght? So, it engages her and everyone else quite academically. So we aren't "technically" wasting our time by becoming brain-dead computer junkies without a life to call our own, are we?

Just a thought. And thanks for all who took a minute of their time to respond.

I feel much better now.

I'm a hazel nut actually. :D I'm always watching out for squirrels, so don't tell them I'm in here.
*hides from squirrels*
My dad always takes away the internet when I'm on Neopets for too long, usually because I'm supposed to be doing homework. Like right now for example...
*scampers off to do Brit Lit Homework*

SS Princess? I had to "kick" (yes, that's kick) the wife off this morning when I was taking Butter butt (our cocker) out for her morning walk. I'm usually on the computer in the morning writing and surfing the net (checking e-mails from the day before), finish what I do by six and let her have her three hours of Neopet Central.

But she yanked on my chain saying, "Well, if I'm on it now, I won't be on it later!"

I'm like, "Honey. You are usually on it later on during the day anyway. Mornings are usually my time to get my writing quota in on my books and anything else I have to do before you clock on."

Suffice to say, she wasn't thrilled. But as the husband and man of the house (that's a debatable issue BTW), I had to put my foot down on something.

Neopets is very addicting, lol. I don't go on it anymore, but what I did to stop was... well, I didn't exactly.. My dad did. He accidently got rid of a dll file I guess, and we lost internet access for a while. When we got it back, I was able to get Adobe Photoshop, and once I learned how to use it, that became addicting. Well.. I'm not much help. Either way, I became addicted to something. Or, you could try to password protect your computer so only you can access it, I guess.
