does anybody know how to make things animate on regular 'paint' not paint shop pro 7 or anything like that?

i dont think you can cause you need an animation program of some sort and i'm pretty sure that paint doesn't have that.

but can you make image sites/map and blend things together?

I don't believe you can do that with good ole' paint.

nyao, on paint you really cant use a tool to blur, but if you know the gradation (dunno if I spelt it right) of it you can do little colors by each other, even put the background dots in it like stippeling, I'll try to show you on my site, but yeah if I have time... curse you homework. and animation... I tried that, the picture is there but the moving is not. that you have to do on a program but you can use the picture you used on paint to make like slideshows or animations. one picture at a time. This isn't what you expected eh? Sorry if it doesn't helps you much and I answered late-was drawing.

I would get psp, it's worth it, seems like you'd be spending a LOT of time doing some stuff on pain and you are very limited.

Also an image map is not something you do graphically, you make the graphic yes but it's the html coding that actually provides the links on that image.

Blends you would have to be able to feather which I don't think paint has.

paint shop pro is very nice, but you cant make animated graphics on it. so, i use animation shop pro [free trial available at www.jasc.com] and i find it very easy to use. you dont have to buy PSP or ASP, i've been living off of my trial versions for quite some time now :)

well that's what i meant...lol i think psp7 came with animation shop but psp8 either that or i downloaded it but didn't remember...lol

You can't do animations in Paint. Period. You CAN do blends/fades/what-have-you if you have a very good eye, a lot of experience, and a LOT of patience. And it will still look like crap compared to other programs.

lol, everyone that has a lot of experience has other programms to make those... and, visit this site http://webbie.suppi.net/ for the animations with just paint and free to download programms that don't need much space.
