Does my site show up on yahoo/google or do I have to pay. Because I was looking a yahoo, and it says it costs somewhere around $300 a year, and I can't afford that. I have a small geocities site, but I'm adding a forum and I would like to have people other then just me and my friend go there...

Check out addme.com, they will submit your site to a number of search engines for free (http://www.addme.com/s0new.htm) note that it does take a long time sometimes, it can be months and months before you start showing up on the big ones like yahoo and google!

You can also just submit it through their free plan. If you get on yahoo than google, msn, and others will add you automatically (or that's what they did to me)
