Same here. :( I learned almost all of my basic HTML/CSS/etc at Webmonkey and here when I first started web design. It's sad to see it go.

Well thats odd, funky-chickens.com is gone too...seems they are all closing down at the moment! Not that i ever visited either but its still sad to see big sites die!

The quick reference things were one of my favourite parts of the site, all the important stuff on one page. It's too bad it's closing down.

that is rather sad- I originally learned HTML from Webmonkey for Kids :P and I liked some of their stuff, like the reference chart...

argh that poops :( never been to it but if lots of people use it then thats kind of annoying. (that its closing down that is lol)

yah i have realized that funky-chicken is down. I LIKED THAT PLACE! I got loads of my cute litle fun codes from there- back when i had silly little celebrity home pages or something haha. oh well :( as long as it brings back memories

personally, yes, it was a bit on the confusing side for me to so i just did a "search" each time to find a specific think to learn about.

I found the search engine a bit confusing at times (it would yield unrelated pages and stuff), but other than that I liked it. :P

I never liked Webmonkey ;) When my site started getting a lot of traffic, Webmonkey noticed and made an HTML help site for kids. It just bugged me a little :D Tucows tried to do the same thing. They even asked permission to use my little train cursor :hehe:

i spose its sad webmonkey is closing, i never really used it (apart from PHP tutorials, which were very good) but just knowing it was there was a kind of comfrot.
