What rotten luck! Speaking of ditched cars...

Ever heard of that snow storm that hit in early January? My dad had to drive through that from Alabama. While we were driving through Illinois, we saw like 7 cars in the ditches beside the Interstate, which made the cars in front of us slow down even more! We didn't get home till 9 that night.

I hit another car my first time out. I put on the gas instead of the brakes, and oh well, the rest is history. Fortunately, it was a parked car, and I was going really slow so it didn't even leave a mark. I promised myself I would never drive again

It will get better, really ;)

The only thing I've ever [slightly] hit is snow banks, good thing they're not damaging  Though they're not too fun to get out of when you drive too close :P
Like everyone else said, it will get easier the more you practice :D *must remember to take selfs advice more*

the worst thing that ever happened when I was in a car was when the car was headed straight for some propane tanks. but i wasn't driving :P

in driver's ed, my instructor made us back up all the way around this large building, without looking over our shoulders (to get us used to both backing up and using the mirrors). one girl in the same car as me wasn't doing so well, and she was way off the little road that went around the building, and at one point, the car was headed for a couple propane tanks. there were wood posts in front of them, so the car may not have even hit them even if we were going fast, and they were probably empty because the building is empty, but still, that was an experience... lol :P

ive been driving about 8 times i think(far too little) 6 with drivers instructors to get my permit and 2 with dad, i think it was my 5th drive i almost hit a parked car i came way too close to it. Never been in an accident i caused....been in a head on collision once btu we were both going like 20 mph so only like light (turn signal/head lights) damage..easy to fix :/

I remember that, how you were saying you never wanted to drive again in your whole life :lolol:
Then I told you about my third driving lesson, and the two flat tires and the unhappy driving instructor ;)

nothing happened to me! Although my sister in law headed towards a telephone pole.

I kissed the ground after getting out of the car when I took her for a lesson....

Just make sure your not still going into ditches when you get your license. I had a horrible expierence with teen drivers. Well my dad did technically. He was riding his motorcycle and a teen driver misjudged a turn. She hit him head on at 40 mph. He flew forty feet landed on his shoulder, lost consciousness for a few seconds. He had to be airlifted to the hospital. He broke his scapula, dislocated his thumb, he had no skin that wasn't covered by bruise from his knee up. He had gashes out of his head and nose. He was in trauma center for like a week, then had complications and had to go back for more time

I just remembered some interesting stories regarding driving, too :P

my driver's ed instructor was telling the people in my car one time about someone in another driving group that almost hit a propane TRUCK head on :P he said he went to turn in front of it or something, and it was closer than he thought. luckily he managed to get out of its way, but the instructor said that he's not sure what he would have done- on one side of the road there were parked cars, and people on the other- so either way he had gone, if he had grabbed the wheel there would have been damage.

and my US history teacher last year told us a bunch of stuff about her driving experiences- it was brought up one day when someone mentioned seeing her in the parking lot, when after she got out of her SUV, she looked back and realized that she was way over the line, so she had to go back and move it. she said she failed her road test 4 times, and on one of them, she hit the same tree twice :P she said she hit it, and when the examiner told her to just go back to where she started (basically meaning she failed), she was angry, so she stomped her foot. which happened to be above the gas pedal. so she went back into the tree lol. and another time she started to back out of her garage, then realized that she hadn't opened the door yet... and she said that when she first started driving, her parents had to replace their mailbox on several occasions :P

The worst crash i had when driving was...i was driving on a huge roundabout next to a huge lorry and for some reason i turned the steering wheel the wrong way, clipped the side of this lorry...my driving instructer grabbed the wheel and pushed it the other way...sending me straight onto the center of the roundabout....no one was hurt, apart from i broke a nail when he grabbed the wheel off me >_<

Oddly enough...i did give up learning after that
