Hello, Does anyone know how to change a picture to .bmp or .gif format? I am trying to change a picture into this format so that I can put it on my guild homepage, thanks!

What art program are you using? Usually all you need to do to change a .bmp into a .gif is to simply save it as a .gif. For example, if you're using Microsoft Paint, you'd click "Save" or "Save As" and where it says "Save as type" scroll down until you see GIF or JPEG, and that's pretty much how to do it.

I hope this helps. Have a nice day! :)

Well, I use PSP because then if you change a .bmp to a .gif or a .jpeg, then the color is not changed. If you use MS Paint, then I find the colors change and get blotted.

In PSP, all you have to do is open the .bmp image, then go to File>Save As, then select the file extention from the list and save.

I have the same problem! I only have paint, and there is no way to change it to .gif or .jpg! It's so difficult, and I don't wanna buy PSP, isn't it like $20? Isn't there any other way?

PSP is $109, and you can download a 60 day trial at http://jasc.com . There is be a free program that converts .bmp to .gif and the other way around. http://webbie.suppi.net/stuff.html scroll down until you see something called "Giffy."

PhotoPlus 5.5 (http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/serif/ph/ph5/index.asp) says that it is a free graphic program... but I'm not sure if it's good because I haven't tested it yet since this comp is running out of space from all the stuff my bro downloads ¬¬...

There are some free converters on the net, that allow you to change pictures into gif images (and perhaps .jpg, but I haven't seen any).

I have the same problem with MS Paint, it no longer allows me to save in .gif or .jpg anymore and I don't know why. I'm glad that I have PSP now, even if it was a bit pricey.
