Blackdragonhide 02-15-2004, 08:42 PM I know there's 2 ways to make thumbnails but which way is better? which two ways are you thinking of? and how do you mean "better"? Ayelet 02-15-2004, 08:51 PM better way of making thumbnails is by making a smaller image and linking it to the picture or whatever, why? Because it uses less bandwidth. If you were going to put up downloads of wallpapers and used them as thumbnails, then that whole image would have to load and take lotsa bytes. By using a smaller image it would save a bit on bandwidth :P kittycat 02-15-2004, 08:52 PM Using one image and just making it a different width & height on your thumbnail page is easiest for you. However it may take a while to load depending on how many images there are and the full size of them. Having two different images, the thumbnail and full size, is good in the way that it won't take your thumbnail page forever to load. Then the user can pick and choose which full images they want to load instead of having all the images load. Although it's a bit more work to make the thumbnail image, I'd choose this one just because the thumbnail page would load more quickly. Yea, I was thinking that resizing them would slow down to load the page. |
