I'm so confused and everytime I go looking I get even more confused. Ok! here goes...

I've been looking for some kind of hosting like: www.(name).com where there's not ad and lot of bandwith and room. Well I'm gettin confused if a domain and paid web hosting the same thing. This maybe a dumb question jsut I need to know the awnsers can my heads all mixed up and confused:P

Also does anyone know any good plans out there for a small site. And is cheap and can pay by cheque maybe, it doesn't have to but it would be nice. Hehe Thx >_<

Well a domain is a www.(yourname).com/org/net thing... And web hosting is where people host your files on their server, like angelfire or some paying sites like dream host.

And if you have your own domain name you usually DON'T (if ever) have ads on your sites because you're paying for it.

I know I just recently bought a site at dream host, and everybodies been saying it costs a lot (but I think 10 bucks a month is kind of cheap for some reason. O.o; )... But I know I used a check to buy it, because that's the only way I can really pay for anything to. You just need to make sure to send it out before your next payment is due. But I'm sure if dream host allows it, other hosting sites would too.

Beware of really cheap hosts that offer alot, remember you DO get what you pay for! Try doing a search for them at http://www.webhostingtalk.com and research some other hosts too, dont rush into anything because not all hosts are as good as they claim or seem to be, you need to talk with people who have actually used them :)
(check out myacen.com while your at it, i use them and would recomend them)
