Hey,

I've made a fanlisting but am having a little problem.

On the codes page (http://mypetwaffle.com/blogofablonde/text^^^^^/codes.php), there are a variety of gif files for people to use. Thing is, when you right click and save the image, all you can save them as is bitmap files which isn't what I want! Anyone know why this is happing and/or how I could sort it out?

Thanks

Sorry, I was trying to sort something out so that I could change this link but I didn't edit in time!

EDIT: Two things, forgot my link wouldn't work...try this link: http://mypetwaffle.com/blogofablonde/test/codes.php for the same thing. Could there be an error with the server as I cannot save and images on this domain any more without being forced to save them as a bitmap image?

My host says it is a general problem with IE but it's only happening on this website which makes it stranger!

I've tried uploading them all sorts of ways, through different FTP programmes and even through the cpanel upload thing.

Just an idea, could someone upload a few of the images onto their server to check? You'll need to go directly to the actual image to save them properly:

http://mypetwaffle.com/blogofablonde/test/images/main/code3.gif
http://mypetwaffle.com/blogofablonde/test/images/main/code2.gif

Please note, once you visit the images directly then you CAN save them normally on the codes.php page.

Grr, so annoying!

Bill

I got them but on this computer IE doesn't work so I can't check it, I'm using netscape:

http://heavenspeace.com/code2.gif :First image

http://heavenspeace.com/code3.gif :second image

edit: had to post the url cause it wouldn't let me do it with the links, i think it was considering it hotlinking.

i can save the second image as .gif from Rosey (first url doesn't work)
but i can't save the images from billdavies as .gif

I'm using IE 6 on XP

found something about it here, this might help you:

It's there for some reason you have to copy and paste but seems like Mirna pinpointed the problem.

I think i'm going to start pinning things on microsoft since half the time it's their fault anyways.... ;)

Thanks for those links Mirna. Hopefully there will be an update soon as it's really annoying.

I've told my host that it only appears to be my site despite these problems and they are going have another look at what might be causing it *crosses fingers*

this probably isn't much help to you but you do know that where you type in the name that you want to save it under if you put .gif after it then it will save as a gif file. I know that doesn't fix your problem but maybe you could put that note on your site for your users until you sort it out. :::shrugs:::

Woo, I *think* (and hope!) that the problem is fixed. What does everyone else think?

It's either the solution my host has said (to disable the cpanel's hotlinking ability thing) OR the Windows Update that just happened.
