although i dont think i will go again in a very long time...unless some really hot guy just happens to offer to teach my how to skate hahaa

wow! yeah when i went the ice was already pretty chopped up. i could feel the grooves when i skated over them....but of course i skated extremely slow! haha i felt kinda silly because all these little tiny 6 and 7 year olds were whizzing past me and here i am clutching onto the sides for my life lol

I went to a skate party before. Someone smacking into me and a fell down, slide across the middle of the rink, and banged into the wall. I don't go skating. Besides it's too could and there aren't really any places to go around there.

Skating freaks me out. There's always people zipping around and sliding funny so ice sprays up. *Shudder* And I'm always freaked out that I'll fall.

I haven't gone skating in ages, don't even know if I'd still be able to do it :P Don't really like it though, it's too cold. I think being forced into skating lessons has made me dislike it forever.

There was a rink at Bluewater for a couple of months, and I went in December. I was in there for at least an hour, and I can say that I didn't let go of the rail at all

We're going to Disneyland in a couple of weeks and my sister's desperate to go skating *shudder*

When I was 19, I lived in London and had an English boyfriend, who one day invited me to go ice skating. So I said I loved ice skating, but my ice skates were in Holland. He couldn't believe I had my own ice skates hehe.
We rented skates at the rink, horrible figure skates.
So we went out on the ice, I skated up and down a bit, and after a minute I said: "Ok, let's go".
As I looked up, this bf was hanging on to the rail staring at me in bewilderment, saying: "you know how to skate!"
He didn't.
I had fun at the ice rink, in spite of the figure skates, so I wanted to go again sometime. The bf kept saying he would love to go skating, IF he had decent skates. I had to agree on the skates thing, so when I was in Holland I got him a pair of hockey skates for Christmas.
He was thrilled with his new skates (I had brought my own hockeys too), so we went ice skating on boxing day.
As soon as he stepped onto the ice, he cried: "WHERE ARE THE SPIKES? HOW DO YOU SKATE ON THOSE, IT'S EVEN HARDER".
Then he fell over.
I thought with practise, anyone could learn, so I took him to the rink every week, for about 6 months.
When there was still no improvement, I decided to go ice skating on my own. We broke up soon after that.

Moral of the story: ice skating is important

I love it! :D I used to play ice hockey when I was younger, so that was my first introduction to ice skating. Although since then I haven't been but a few times. But it's still fun.

When I was younger, I once forgot to take my skate guards off (stupid me). So I go out onto the ice and fall on my rear, get up, the same thing happens. And I'm wondering how the heck I could be doing so badly 'cause I had ice-skated before. Then it finally dawns on me that I never took my skate guards off. So I take 'em off and start going like normal again. :buckt:

I love ice skating, its so fun :) I can only wear hockey skates, because I have freakishly wide feet for a girl.. and they dont fit into figure skates  And I'm really clumsy, so I'm sure I'd fall over in figure skates cause the blade is so thin.

I've been before. It's a lot of fun. I learned how to skate wrong though (one foot turns in oddly . No idea why.), so it kind of causes me trouble. Almost the whole time I'm trying to fix my foot because it wants lean in. Yes, but it is a lot of fun. But only when the ice is smooth and shiny. When it's choppy it's really hard. I've only skated indoors (considering where I live), and I think it would be fantastic to skate outside.

Its been a long time since I went ice skating. I think the last time I went was when I was little. I remember I fell a couple of times and me hands burned a bit. o_0

I never got to go ice skating ever.... I did once however, slip on some slippery wet tile in my kitchen and landed face down. =D Bwahaha!

Being a hockey player, ice skating is extremely fun for me :)

When my dad was a teenager, he slipped and slid on his knees....right into the back of figure skates. ouch

I used to go skating at least a few times a year, i haven't been skating for years. I'm terrible at it.. I used to blame it on my skates, but now I've come to accept that I'll never be able to stay up for more than 10 minutes at a time. And it hurts your feet too. I'm bad at rollerblading too, but that's because of my rollerblades... *cough*

I live just down the road from a hockey rink too..

Don't feel too bad :) You're not alone, I'm the same way. Those kids scare the heck out of me sometimes. They come within like one inch and then I fall when they don't even touch me. How embarassing (sp?)

I can iceskate. I really don't like to much though and haven't been for a few years. Watching my friends was far more amusing anywayz.

:example:

Nich *holds onto the edge for dear life. Creeps slowly along the edge " Aaaaaaaaaaahhhh I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die ImgonnadieImgonnadieImgonnadie"

Nick skates by him and turns around " Suddup Suddup suddupsuddup SHUT UP!!" *smacks into wall.*

Nich " He's gonna die awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww"

I love skating- i don't have skates anymore-used to, now i don't go more than once a year, but its still fun. My first time i didn't fall much-only when i used to try to stop. But now i don't fall unless one of my friends pushes me-which is actually very often. I prefer hockey skates over figure skates though-they are way easier to use- figure skates are soo hard to use.
