I think i had it set before in WS_ftp LE that i could delete whole folders but now it won't let me, I have to empty the whole folder first which is tedious.

i just can't find where to set "allow folder deletion" or something like that.

I have ws_ftp pro and there is under Preferences (mine is the german version so it's the 5th button from left) the option "Pro". It's between server and sorting (or something like this).
There the fifth button from the top is "allow non empty folder deletion".
Hope you can find it in your version, as well! Maybe the option is only in the "Pro" version :-/
