I am a member of xanga and have found that some people have some really cool backgrouns ( or skins ) on their site.
I'd like to design my own, but have no clue how - and am not that great on HTML or JavaScript or whatever it takes.

Any idea where to find some help?? Or maybe someone willing to do it for just a link back to their site??

If you have a paint program you can paint the image you want, or use an image that has already been made as long as you have permission from the person who made it. save your final image as a JPEG. file and then you can upload it to your site!

I'm not quite sure you understood my post. I know how to upload .jpg and .gif files - thats not a problem ( if you looked at my site any ) ... it is basically trying to figure out how to do make the skins that Xanga uses ... I am not good at HTML design and was looking for information - since I was directed to this site from a xanga skin I found ( it had this forum address listed to get help from )

well I think xanga gives you those codes to show you the usual stuff that goes on a xanga...you might want to look at some skins to see what you like and try using some of the stuff they use...play around a little :D
