(I hope this thread hasn't already created!) Ok, I want to know how to fade pictures. so say I have a wallpaper that I want to make the backround on my website, but when I type over it I can see the letters cuz the picturte is to dark. So what I want to know is how to make the picture lighter.

In what graphics program? Most of them will have the option somewhere for adjusting brightness/contrast.

I use PSP7, so I don't know if this will work in other graphics programs. Adjusting the brightness/contrast is probably the easiest way, but I'm difficult, so I like to do it like this :) (and this way, if you want text on only part of the image, you can make only that part of the image faded, and the rest not). Just select the part of the image you want faded (or all of it), select the paintbucket and on the tool palette set the opacity low. Select your color to be white. Then just click on the selection; the selection will be painted white, but a very faint white, so the image still shows through. Click on the selection a few more times and fiddle around with the opacity if you want to make it even more faded.
