View Full Version : help.. background codeeee m1s5y 01-08-2004, 11:26 PM hey some1111 helpppp LOL yes im annoying.. but i KNOW THERES A CODE 4 STRETCHING BACKGROUND IMAGES. cuz people have done it. and sum gurl just wouldnt give it 2 me.. urggghh! so some1 help please xox melly* :) hockyfan641 01-08-2004, 11:31 PM No, there isn't. You have to stretch it in a graphics program. well you can't stretch a background image. m1s5y 01-08-2004, 11:37 PM well do u kno a program that i can get the url from after cuz it always shrinks it back? Rosey 01-09-2004, 02:17 AM You can either download the trial version of psp or photoshop and stretch out a picture to fit what you want or in your html you can specify the height and width of your image. If that's not it and you know the site that does what you're looking for, post it and we can see and see how she does it. bellportal 01-10-2004, 05:07 PM Is the girl you asked the owner of the website? If not, read my sig! ;) If not, I agree with Rosey. stargrl329 01-10-2004, 10:45 PM What if... you absolute-positioned an image at 0,0 and then set the image to be 100% height and 100% width? *tests* Hmm, it works. The downside is that you would have to absolute-position everything else on top of the image, which might be difficult depending what you want to do. bellportal 01-11-2004, 05:23 PM The only problem with having to div-position everything is that a) your visitors may not have CSS (but I wouldn't really worry about this one ;)) b) if you use a large screen size, 1024*1000 (I think), then div positioning can be quite dangerous - if it looks ok on your screen, it won't on a smaller sized one. Regards, stargrl329 01-11-2004, 05:25 PM Yes, that's definitely true about the screen resolutions. But depending on what type of layout you plan to use, there could be a way to make it work :) bellportal 01-11-2004, 05:33 PM Very true - a point to bear in mind. :) stargurl* 01-11-2004, 11:07 PM yes, it is true that it would be a lot better to do it in a graphic program, but maybe you could try this: instead of setting it as a background, you can set it as an image, and make the width really big, and the height not quite as big. Of course, it should fill up the whole page so the image has to be pretty long/slim. Then you place a div ontop and put w/e in there. Yes, I know that that with the resolutions will not work and stuff, but, you can also set it so that there is two paths entering your site, each a different resolution.. Hope this helps!!! ~*StarGurl*~ |
