I tried reading the help topics and everything, but I still don't get how to slice in IR 1! i can get the HTML code, but then it won't let me save the slices. if anyone can find me a tutorial or briefly explain how to slice, that would be great. :)

well, i've never sliced in it before, but i do animations (I have 7.0, though). Instead of just copying the html code, you need to go to File > Save optimized as. It will save all your slices. Then just find them on your computer and upload them. Leastways, I think that's all there is to it. Because I did a quick slice and then ran a search, and all of the slices were individual. Hope it helps.

so, when you go to Save optimized, it saves each individual slice?

It does with mine, and all I have to do is just run a search (because it puts it somewhere odd or something) on my comp and then just use FTP to get each one up there.

this is for image ready 3 however, but it might give you the big lines of how to slice with image ready in general :) I couldn't find much on Image Ready 1.0
