I use PSP 8

1.) I get a single piece of photograph image and put it in it's own layer.

2.) I click the "magic wand" tool and select the clear part of the layer.

3.) Then I go to Selections>> Invert

4.) Once I have the entire image selected I go back to Selections >> Modify >> Expand

5.) Depending on how bold you want the outline you want the outline write in your number (the example you showed is probably about the width of 3 pixels)

6.) Pick a color you want the outline to be and select the fill tool.

7.) Then fill where the clear part of the selection is (the outline)

8.) Go to Selections >> Select None

If you want to be careful filling it in I would suggest magnifying to about 400 or 300 %.

I hope that helps, sorry if there are any glitches b/c I did that right off the top of my head soo if there are any problems please tell me. Good Luck! :D

What kind of borders do you want? Like just a regular outline around your collage?

uhhh.. i'm trying to add a border around someone for my next layout. when i tried cutting the person out then add the border.. i added the border but it isn't as neat as the person did it in the other collage. i tried emailing the person who made that collage but i didn't get an answer back. so yeh, i still need help. =\

hey. theres an easy way to make dotted borders in photoshop. makes for a nice change from solid borders. create a new layer and select the type text tool. type the '-' symbol throughout the width of the image and maybe half an inch at the ends. copy this layer and move it to the bottom. create another, rotate, and it can be used as your vertical borders. copy that one and move it to the other side. sounds complicated but its pretty simple.

Try to select the person, then expant it and then fill it with the colour you want the border to be (don't forget to copy the person first>best selected) and then paste the image on top of it and place it right! Did this help?
