Tutorials are good, but try experimenting on your own. It's your own creativity that shows in the end.

Yeah, trying on your own is probably the best thing. Just make your work time to time a bit lighter and blur it... then use about 2 or 3 different matching colours and it should look quite nice. And to create brushes, just take other pics and take parts of it and make brushes with them.

A true graphic artist (although i cant say that i am) rely's heavily on originality. Although the pic is good. Wow how did she do that?

just like sinem said, you take a few pictures or parts of them, play around with the transparency, method of blending and you get results ;)
