My dads been on at me to get him a PC game for ages, but he doesnt know what he wants and neither do i so its rather hard! Can anyone recommend a good PC 'shoot em up' type game....he loves things like doom, duke nukem and goldeneye :D

I think they have some Tom Clancy games for the computer.

I played Ghost Recon for Xbox and it was like a war game. I think they all are. Those I know who have played them give them thumbs up.

Prices aren't too objectionable either ;)

My husband got a new game a couple of weeks ago, called "Uru".
He says it's really great, he spends a lot of time playing it. I think it was quite pricy though...

If he wants a shoot him up then get Half Life:Counter Strike. It's made for multiplayer over the net or LAN but you can download bots to play with. The basic gameplay is that there's the terrorists and the counter terrorists who play agaist eachother in situations such as hostage rescues, bombing missions, all sorts of stuff and you run around and shhot other guys with realistic weaponry.

He doesnt have a net connection, and is rather simple minded when it comes to puter things anyway so i think that one would confuse him too much lol

Simple minded when it comes to gaming? In that case get a copy of MAME and roms which are all the arcade games we all loved. It's rather hard to find the roms as there are only 3 legal ones but I downloaded a set of 400 of them off Kazaa.

I've heard quake III is pretty good... The point of the game is to shoot people and that's about it. :P

Also, Halo on PC. :)

Oh yes, Halo is awesome.

This is the main genre that I play, so I have a good list that is good

-Half Life (This has about 10 expansions that are also over the net (MMO) so if he ever did get the net, this is a good place to go)

-Soldier of Future

-Anything by Tom Clancy
*I LOVE Splinter Cell. That is more Clandestine, but it is still really fun and you shoot people
*Ghost Recon. Great War game. I loved it
*Any Rainbow Six Game. They're upto 3, and I have only played Rainbow Six 1, and I loved it, so 3 can only be better

-Operation Flashpoint. Kinda old, but has excellent game play. This is the Cold War Crisis

-Any of the Medal of Honor games. They are always good for "shoot 'em up" but they have great gameplay

That should keep you busy for a bit. Just pull up some reviews on those and see what you like. Oh I forgot. Halo kicks ALL MAJOR BUTT. If you want shoot em up, that will definetly achieve it. GREAT GAME

Have the specs? Some of those games require some massive system requirements.

it is very funny when you are playing one on one and you are in the warthog and the other one is on foot and you just run them over again and again and again and again sn again....

i would get him max payne2....but you need atleast a p4 2.0 with decnet ram and a good radeon 9600 to play it....

I have never seen that game... see the bad thing about recommending games is all of us live in different parts of the world and some people might not have certain games... either that or I just have never herd of that game even though it is here :)

Well, The Sims isn't a shooting game, but it's the best PC game ever :) I got Medal of Honor: Rising Sun for Christmas on PS2... It may be on PC. It's a game about Pearl Harbor... He may also like True Crime (if he likes Grand Theft Auto, he may like this "clone").

lol... I have noticed that before... one time... we only had one more person to shoot so we got up real close to him and put on our sniper gun so we could see him up close... when we shot him was said

"ouch why did you do that"

we shot him again and he finallyu died
