Under your User CP. It doesn't tell you who did it, but it tells you the post they "disapproved" of.

Did you try using your own url for the avatar? I managed to upload one for myself, maybe the file size was too big?

You can't view how many points someone has, but if you put your mouse over that dot beside the number of posts you have (displayed on each post) it gives you a little description.

I guess I must be doing something wrong, for I can't get it to uncheck the box where it says "Do not use an avatar"...

Do those dots, the colour of them, mean something?

It's probably a bug...this isn't the final version and I've found a few bugs.

The dots are different colors according to the level of your reputation. When you have enough points, the dot becomes a crown hehe. :froggie2:

when i got to "edit avatar" there is no where to put any typing. it just has the "do not use avatar" (and there's no where to make this un-clicked) and then "save" and "reset" (which both do nothing)

That's what I thought at first, but starlet's explanation she found confused me. My CP says I have one red dot (first one recieved), two yellows, and two blues. I'm currently at 7 points (I was at 10). There's only two choices to give someone when rating their post, so why three different colors in the log? Eh, I'm sure I'll figure it out one day, lol.

I'll come back later and on the same page, in between what I thought were post 3 and 4 (random post numbers) will be like five other posts that I'm SURE I haven't seen before. The main reason I've been noticing it is because someone will be quoting something I don't remember. So, that's when I look it up. Is it just me? Or am I missing something?

perhaps, if possible, change the small "reply" button in the individual posts into a "quote" button. some people may get that confused with the actual larger "post reply" at the bottom of the post list.

(my 2 cents)

Well if you really like one that's from the internet, you can always resize and edit it on MS Paint.

Does the size allowed for your avatar have to do with your ranking or something because mine has to be 3000 bytes or something and I don't know how to make my image that small.

Does the size allowed for your avatar have to do with your ranking or something because mine has to be 3000 bytes or something and I don't know how to make my image that small.yeah, sometimes the image has too many colors or if it's an animation, it's too long. The size of the file has to be 3000 bytes or less. Whilke you're in paint, when you're done resizing, go to 'view' 'attributes' and it says the size of the file

It's because getting an avatar and changing your title relyies on it.

Loren
12-28-2003, 06:50 PM
I still don't think it's a big deal, but then that is my opinion.
It wories me just because, the fate of whether I can change my title lays in other peoples hands. If most people are like me they're kind of lazy and don't feel like clicking the little button if they like my post, but if they don't like it I'm sure they will so that will hurt my rep and not let me change my title.

Also, you're a mod so I don't think your rep does or takes anything from you. It wouldn't bother me if me being able to have "special things" didn't rely on it.

westernrider
12-28-2003, 06:55 PM
yeah... my title does lay in peoples hands..and so that is why I do not think my title will ever change :P because I kno some HTML and I try to help when I can but I do not post good enough info for some one to say it was a good post *shrug*

Sheila
12-28-2003, 07:08 PM
See that's why I'm not worrying about the reputation thing, because if someone doesn't like me they are going to take points away from me. I know people can't abuse it, but that isn't going to stop people from taking points. But I understand your point Loren.

That probably made no sense.

sisqoluv
12-28-2003, 07:33 PM
I'm still a bit confused about the reputation thing. I understand the colors and everything, but I was told we get points for every 50 or so posts... I haven't... Plus I've received more good ratings since, and I'm still at 7 points. Can someone please clear up how this works? And if I don't catch on fast enough, don't mind me, I only got four hours of sleep today, lol.

I DO NOT WANT TO TALK ABOUT THAT. I DON'T LIKE IT AND IT'S DISGUSTING. yep i talked about that the few months after i got my comp, i talked about that to the girl i love cuz i thought i was more interesting and she told me to stop but i continued, then one day i realized that i was losing her and i completely stopped and she made me realize that i was on the wrong way by talking about that. for truth i don't like (that 3 letter word), i talked about that only to be more interesting, now i completely stoped to talk about that.

i thought because it's an over 21 section, people would talk about that 3 letter word, but maybe (and i hope) i'm wrong. maybe i posted too much in cam girls forums and i think almost everyone that are old enough to have it talks about that.

I think you may be right it seems to me the point of the over 13 and over 21 places are to talk about things other people shouldn't here, and if it's good enough to be talked about I think it should be able to go in the regular chat forum. If anyone disagrees they can PM me a good example of why they need the over 13 and over 21 places.

PS Why do we have an over 21 forum? Isn't Lissa only 15 or 16?

i was wondering how old she is. technically she can't post in her over 21 section if she's 15 or 16. :D

and i don't think this forum really needs an over 21 section. LEIA is a site for kids, a site that explains html and all that stuff to them. So an over 21 section in this forum isn't needed.

just because the original purpose of the site is for kids to get HTML help doesn't mean the forum can't have other areas. I've gotten to know many people here, and I appreciate the chat forums so that if everyone wants to discuss things not related to HTML, they can, and because of the people on this particular forum, I like to discuss other things with them.

and just because a bunch of people over 21 get together, doesn't mean that all they'll be talking about is s[you fill in the blanks]. I expect that related topics will be discussed less there because those people will be more mature. I think people in the 13-21 group are probably more likely to bring it up than anyone else. although some people are the exception, like people that appear to have it on their mind because it's the first thing they think of when they think of a 21+ forum ::whistles::

they just has to post in another forum then. the LEIA forums doesn't need an over 21 section. i'm not mature, i like this forum cuz i can talk with people as mature as me.

it's not your forum to decide what it needs and doesn't need. And you are 25, you are supposed to be mature.

it says there are 2 members & 2 guests online, but my name is the only one that shows up, so the other member must be inivisible. I take it that answers your question?

I'm always invisible. I know I am invisible, because next to my name is a * on the list. I can see my name but no one else can.

and just because a bunch of people over 21 get together, doesn't mean that all they'll be talking about is s[you fill in the blanks]. I expect that related topics will be discussed less there because those people will be more mature. I think people in the 13-21 group are probably more likely to bring it up than anyone else. although some people are the exception, like people that appear to have it on their mind because it's the first thing they think of when they think of a 21+ forum ::whistles::

you're probably right, i don't really know which age range talks the most about that.

AND I DON'T TALK ABOUT THAT AND I DON'T HAVE IT IN MY MIND. I DON'T LIKE IT.

i agree with you, it's not my forum and she can do whatever she wants, i was just saying my thought about it.

he didn't want advice, just to whine and for someone to hold his little hand and tell him she was nuts and that he should rush in there and save her.

He is so deluded.

I think it will be cool if Lissa can get different skins.
Whenever i go onto the site at school, all the guys think im going on some girly site because of the yellows, purples and pinks. lol :D

can't wait.

westernrider
01-03-2004, 07:20 PM
if you take away the pinks and purples you take away the essence of lissa :P

that takes away the whole "lissaness" of the site!

I sorta like all the brite colors :buckt:

Personally I never did get why colors were suppose to be gender based. Plus thinks like butterflies. I don't know why people think they are girlie  I don't like pink but it has nothing to do with me being a male.

westernrider
01-03-2004, 08:29 PM
lol... that reminds me... when I was in kindergarten I loved the color blue (I still do) but of course that is a "boy" color... from that point on I was always called a tom boy just because I liked blue and I still am to this day :/ it is so stupid to base gender by color... I do not really like "girly colors" but it fits here... I probably wouldn't like it if it was any different :P

pink on guys is a little weird to me... I know that is stupid and it is just a color... but I saw this guy in our school... he had painted his Nikes pink and he had a tight pink leather jacket on... it just sorta made my eyes bulge at first :P

Loren
01-03-2004, 08:39 PM
Ok, I never said I wore pink. It would be scary if someone did, like the boy that wore black lipstick too school.

Ravie

light pink shows off one's skintone. not that I personally would wear it, but a lot of guys do

Loren
01-03-2004, 08:46 PM
Only 1 guy in our school wore it out of like 500. Atleast I don't think their were any others. I don't pay much attetion to clothing.

First, a few guys started with pink sholelaces. Later on, some boy wore shiney, pink pants. I don't even wear pink myself... If they guys want to wear pink, fine; I just don't like it :D

It's not that bad this time I think their was more before and the blue quickly ofsets that.

<offtopic>They need to go back to teaching people how to spell in highschool they dropped spelling for the past 2 years and with spell check. I'm forgetting how to spell it took my like 10 tries to get blue right. Not good and this rate I would be able to spell me by the time I'm 30. :P </offtopic>

Neptune

Probably wore them only to be outrageous and get attention.

I'm okay with spelling, but I probably abuse the whole spellcheck thing way too much.

well, normally when you're born, if you're a boy, you get blue. if you're a girl, you get pink. i don't think colors matter upon gender, but i never wear a 'girl' color.

I know this is probably off topic to what your talking about now (i'm just reading the first page here)

anywho, i know vB3 has some really good features... one of them being the WYSIWYG editor... if you could, would you enable it lissa? It should be right under "Message Posting Interface Options" in vBulletin options... it's quite a useful tool :)

Also, a liquid version of a style would be nice to fit my huge resolution :)

When someone has red dots that does mean then have negetive points correct?

What specific word do you want to search for? I've added php, html, shtml, ssi, etc. Searching for 3 letter words would be a nightmare...

I can just imagine the looks on people's (who were sent to this thread for info) faces when they can't find any dots. "Oh man! My dot isn't a dot! Heck, it's not even yellow! What does green mean?! Help me!"

Erm, red. That's a bit akward to look at. *feels sorry for them*
