I went to this site once and on it, it had a little message "This is your first time here cool" I went again and it was like, "This is your second time here wow!" and so on and so forth. Does anyone know how to do that, if so can you help me out?

it can be done in Perl/CGI or in PHP.

essentially, it places a small text file on the visitors computer to remember a small bit of information and use it.
