View Full Version : Christmas Shopping SizzZzlinhair 12-17-2003, 03:27 AM When do all of you Catholic people do your Christmas shopping? :) Owlie42 12-17-2003, 03:32 AM By this time, I've done it already, but I was sick the last two weekends, so I haven't done it yet. :( lefty 12-17-2003, 03:33 AM I usually do it any time during December. I don't buy for many people so I don't have the need to rush thought it; I buy things when I stumble upon them. Or when it's December 23rd and realize I have nothing. :P adrielle 12-17-2003, 03:35 AM Around November/December=o) (Catholics?) lefty 12-17-2003, 03:38 AM I didn't even notice that Catholic part. I'm not Catholic. :P Dude128 12-17-2003, 04:18 AM I don't usually shop :P usually my parents will buy everything that other people want, and I pick something out and pay them for it lol and good thing I wasn't in the southern part of my county last saturday trying to shop- a lot of people complained because Cheney was in the area for a fund raiser, and his motorcade held up traffic on Interstate 84 for about an hour for I guess a rather long distance, and they had police all over the place, they had police lining both sides of every single overpass along where he was travelling... it was in the newspapers, and I guess a lot of people were really annoyed because they couldn't get anywhere on the second to last Saturday before Christmas :P and that was the second time he's been in my area (the last time to hunt), and he held up traffic for a while then, too- but at least it wasn't during the holiday shopping season :P adrielle 12-17-2003, 04:48 AM Originally posted by lefty2217 I didn't even notice that Catholic part. I'm not Catholic. :P Neither am I :P :) Valkyrie 12-17-2003, 06:26 AM Im a procrastinator....so I tend to do last minute shopping. : / starlet 12-17-2003, 05:50 PM I tend to start mid december...im so on the ball this year, i have everything i need already, go me! Arc Angel 12-17-2003, 06:23 PM I don't see what Catholisism has to do with Christmas shopping but I will post anywho. :P I usually shop late November/Early December so I have time to get my gifts mailed out. And I'm a fan of online shopping. I mean if spending hours in lines and busy stores is your thing, by all means go ahead. But I usually get a couple gifts from stores, usually on weekdays (less crouded). But with my mom's recent knee surgery I haven't done any shopping yet. :S Karen_ 12-17-2003, 09:00 PM I haven't even started :P Next year I'm doing all my shopping in September lol SizzZzlinhair 12-17-2003, 10:28 PM Nevermind about the Catholic thing :P I guess I was thinking that Catholic people celebrate Christmas, but now that I think about it, it's not just Catholics, and even if you're not religious, you still buy for people around you, lol. I was tired when I made this thread. Rosey 12-17-2003, 10:42 PM I usually do it any time during December. I don't buy for many people so I don't have the need to rush thought it; I buy things when I stumble upon them. Or when it's December 23rd and realize I have nothing. :P Same here. This year I'm doing better, I have everything for michaela except for 2 more things I want to get her. I need to find something for Mike still, I only have half his done. The rest of the family? ACK! I'll pick up something little at the bookstore or something..lol Next year I'm doing all my shopping in September lol Famous last works..... I say that every year But i guess i'm doing better, i had michaela's stuff mid november..go me...go me!! 2 years ago, all we wanted to get her was this toy that made music and had balls you could drop and they would go around and around and we had to go to 5 stores before finding it. It wasn't even a popular toy! We got one that someone didn't pick up from their layaway! And then someone wanted to buy it from us for the price we paid for it...i dont think so! "You want this toy, you're going to have to fork over a LOT more buddy". Michaela got her toy and everyone was happy. kittycat 12-17-2003, 10:53 PM I don't buy Christmas presents :P I don't like my family enough to get them stuff. I only get one of my friends a present, and my mum usually buys that one. And I get a few other people a card at least, and I get that around the beginning of December. So my Christmas shopping is done before it's even started :P Neptune 12-18-2003, 04:19 AM I did it all online. Wooo! It all came by early December, which wasn't on there :P I haven't even been out REAL Christmas shopping. I still have one family member though. I'm not Catholic, by the way. SSPrincess 12-19-2003, 01:01 AM That's odd, I could of sworn I posted in this thread previously...perhaps there is a poster eater out there...*shivers* Anywho, I haven't boughten a single present yet for several reasons: 1.) Big School Project 2.) Homework 3.) Huge Swim meet 4.) My mom's car broke down 5.) I'm a procrastinator I plan on getting a box of candy canes tomorrow on the way to school, and passing them out to my friends. I'm probably going shopping whenever my mom takes me, which'll be sometime before Christmas and after Sunday...I have no idea when... And I'm Christian...but I'm not Catholic...however, there actually is a family on my street that doesn't celebrate Christmas, or any holiday for that matter. It would be weird if I didn't celebrate Christmas, but it must normal for them...either way....I need to figure out what to get my family... *runs off* lilmsunpopular 12-20-2003, 01:55 AM Last minute, I'm the Procrasination Queen. sebluver 12-20-2003, 02:41 AM I just came back from finishing my shopping. :D Magical Charm 12-20-2003, 02:50 AM I'm going to go shopping three days before Christmas. Thompson. ::adds it to her wishlist:: Hunter S. Thompson is a weird guy. i like him. ever see Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas? i always wait until the last minute. i'm such a procrastinator. SizzZzlinhair 09-08-2004, 01:43 AM I haven't even gotten my mom a bday present yet, and her birthday was yesterday. So why talk about X-Mas shopping so early? xP Lissa 09-08-2004, 02:55 AM  This thread *looked* a little old.. I procrastinate, I probably won't be Christmas shopping 'til after Christmas! :dead: SizzZzlinhair 09-08-2004, 02:57 AM  This thread *looked* a little old.. But I buy all of my stuff last minute. :present: Rosekeet 11-26-2004, 04:55 PM UGH! I love christmas but hate shopping for it! I can never think of what to give anybody. Usually after we get out for x-mas break is when I do my shopping, so mid-december. Owlie42 11-26-2004, 05:10 PM I hate that. Most people I know are impossible to buy anything for...:grouch: SUPER RP06 11-26-2004, 05:14 PM Maybe my mom and I will go Xmas shopping when the countdown to Xmas reaches 20 days. (Early december) I don't like last-minute shopping, because of the rush. x yuna 11-27-2004, 03:50 AM i usually start my christmas shopping mid decemberish ... but i start making a list now. i dont want to forget anyone O__o Munchkin 11-27-2004, 04:19 AM Hmm, newbies. Or bored oldies. Whatever :P I try to do my shopping in the beginning of December, but I usually end up finishing on December 23rd....:P It just takes me that long to find nice, affordable pressies. Craft fairs are great....original and not so expensive. :D Silence4me2 11-27-2004, 03:11 PM =( Im broke this year but I would get it done in mid december. I only have hugs this year. *hug* =) Cemetery_Circus 11-28-2004, 11:35 PM When do all of you Catholic people do your Christmas shopping? :) You dont have to be catholic to celebrate christmas and give gifts...It's become so materialistic that most people ARENT catholic, or ARENT even practising. People just give gifts because it's fun, and it's a nice thing to do. ratch26 11-30-2004, 01:45 PM awww, why has it come round do early this year, lol. i havent even started yet, and i cant really be bothered, i might just buy everything over the internet. i hate all the hussle and bussle of the high streets - full of rude, rushing people and bags swinging into my arms- no thank you. yeah the internet option sounds pretty good to me :) i guess i have lost all my christmas cheer - how do i get it back? suggestions.... starlet 12-02-2004, 02:39 AM I'm going tomorrow...well...in about 6 hours (oops better go to bed!) I know i wont get much of it done though! ratch26 12-02-2004, 05:46 PM I'm going tomorrow...well...in about 6 hours (oops better go to bed!)
