When do all of you Catholic people do your Christmas shopping? :)

By this time, I've done it already, but I was sick the last two weekends, so I haven't done it yet. :(

I usually do it any time during December. I don't buy for many people so I don't have the need to rush thought it; I buy things when I stumble upon them. Or when it's December 23rd and realize I have nothing. :P

I don't usually shop :P usually my parents will buy everything that other people want, and I pick something out and pay them for it lol

and good thing I wasn't in the southern part of my county last saturday trying to shop- a lot of people complained because Cheney was in the area for a fund raiser, and his motorcade held up traffic on Interstate 84 for about an hour for I guess a rather long distance, and they had police all over the place, they had police lining both sides of every single overpass along where he was travelling... it was in the newspapers, and I guess a lot of people were really annoyed because they couldn't get anywhere on the second to last Saturday before Christmas :P and that was the second time he's been in my area (the last time to hunt), and he held up traffic for a while then, too- but at least it wasn't during the holiday shopping season :P

Im a procrastinator....so I tend to do last minute shopping. : /

I tend to start mid december...im so on the ball this year, i have everything i need already, go me!

I don't see what Catholisism has to do with Christmas shopping but I will post anywho. :P

I usually shop late November/Early December so I have time to get my gifts mailed out. And I'm a fan of online shopping. I mean if spending hours in lines and busy stores is your thing, by all means go ahead. :lol: But I usually get a couple gifts from stores, usually on weekdays (less crouded). But with my mom's recent knee surgery I haven't done any shopping yet. :S

I haven't even started :P

I guess I was thinking that Catholic people celebrate Christmas, but now that I think about it, it's not just Catholics, and even if you're not religious, you still buy for people around you, lol. I was tired when I made this thread.

Same here. This year I'm doing better, I have everything for michaela except for 2 more things I want to get her. I need to find something for Mike still, I only have half his done. The rest of the family? ACK! I'll pick up something little at the bookstore or something..lol

Next year I'm doing all my shopping in September lol

But i guess i'm doing better, i had michaela's stuff mid november..go me...go me!!

2 years ago, all we wanted to get her was this toy that made music and had balls you could drop and they would go around and around and we had to go to 5 stores before finding it. It wasn't even a popular toy! We got one that someone didn't pick up from their layaway! And then someone wanted to buy it from us for the price we paid for it...i dont think so! "You want this toy, you're going to have to fork over a LOT more buddy". Michaela got her toy and everyone was happy.

I don't buy Christmas presents :P I don't like my family enough to get them stuff. I only get one of my friends a present, and my mum usually buys that one. And I get a few other people a card at least, and I get that around the beginning of December. So my Christmas shopping is done before it's even started :P

I did it all online. Wooo! It all came by early December, which wasn't on there :P I haven't even been out REAL Christmas shopping. I still have one family member though.

Anywho, I haven't boughten a single present yet for several reasons:
1.) Big School Project
2.) Homework
3.) Huge Swim meet
4.) My mom's car broke down
5.) I'm a procrastinator

I plan on getting a box of candy canes tomorrow on the way to school, and passing them out to my friends. I'm probably going shopping whenever my mom takes me, which'll be sometime before Christmas and after Sunday...I have no idea when...

And I'm Christian...but I'm not Catholic...however, there actually is a family on my street that doesn't celebrate Christmas, or any holiday for that matter. It would be weird if I didn't celebrate Christmas, but it must normal for them...either way....I need to figure out what to get my family...

i dont even do ti last minute. i do my christmas shopping on boxing day and then i get it for less...kinda. then i give presents on new years eve...lol

I chose the first choice, but really I get things throughout the year. Like I may go on a trip and spot something that looks like a good gift for somebody, even if it's only june. :lol:

Around Mid-December for me. Not any earlier, not any later. PLus its right when most all stores are having Christmas Sales! =D :idea:

i dont, but something ive thought about is going on turkey day, or the day after christmas, thats when everything is on sale :)

UGH! I love christmas but hate shopping for it! I can never think of what to give anybody. Usually after we get out for x-mas break is when I do my shopping, so mid-december.

I hate that. Most people I know are impossible to buy anything for...:grouch:

I try to do my shopping in the beginning of December, but I usually end up finishing on December 23rd....:P It just takes me that long to find nice, affordable pressies. Craft fairs are great....original and not so expensive. :D

You dont have to be catholic to celebrate christmas and give gifts...It's become so materialistic that most people ARENT catholic, or ARENT even practising. People just give gifts because it's fun, and it's a nice thing to do.

awww, why has it come round do early this year, lol. i havent even started yet, and i cant really be bothered, i might just buy everything over the internet. i hate all the hussle and bussle of the high streets - full of rude, rushing people and bags swinging into my arms- no thank you. yeah the internet option sounds pretty good to me :)
