i have converted from mp3 format to a wma format, and yet my music still does not work, i want ppl to download some but it does not work why

It depends on the browser they're using. If you want to make it so it downloads for everybody, you'd have to put it in a zip.

the user will need the correct player but that doesn't sound like what the problem is.

make sure you're uploading as binary.

Providing a tarball copy would also be nice of you too, for Linux users.

or just put it in a rar.

ok i ammmm very new at this stuff so
i will tell how i did it
first i downloaded the song so it is in mp3 format
next i converted it into a wma format
next i went onto geocities and uploaded it
finally i tested it and it would not play

now do ichange it into binary, zip etc

I don't think Geocities allows free mp3 uploading, so... You can always zip the file first and upload it to binary, but you'll have to use ftp for that and I'm not sure that Geocities provides that either...

No, and I'm feeling lazy right now. Just go to Google (http://google.com) and search for a free hosting site that provides ftp service.
