Is this the correct code to add to my css to use a background on my page?

BACKGROUND-image: C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\My Documents\VBsite\flowergarden\patterns\blacktri.gi f;

or is this right?
background-image: url(blacktri.gif);

If not, could you help me out with this in making it correct, because I am confused by this:
background-image: url(image.gif);

And I am not getting my background to show up either way.

I wanted to get a background like the following link and layer my images like this:

Thanks.background (http://www.geocities.com/honey4u_s_home/)

The second code that you posted would be the correct one. You would only be able to see the first one, since the image is linked to your hard drive.

Could you post your entire code, or at least CSS code? Or a link to the page you're having trouble with might help as well.

Here is the link of the webpage I was playing with to get the look desired:

Flowergarden (http://www.users.kconline.com/vicary/flowergarden/flowergarden.html)

Unfortunately, I still cannot get it to work, so here is the css. Am I doing something wrong?

<STYLE type=text/css>A:link {
FONT-WEIGHT: normal; COLOR: #6aaaec; FONT-FAMILY: verdana, arial, lucida sans; TEXT-DECORATION: none
}
A:visited {
FONT-WEIGHT: normal; COLOR: #dfc11b; FONT-FAMILY: verdana, arial, lucida sans; TEXT-DECORATION: none
}
A:active {
FONT-WEIGHT: normal; COLOR: #a9eba9; FONT-FAMILY: verdana, arial, lucida sans; TEXT-DECORATION: none
}
A:hover {
FONT-WEIGHT: bold; COLOR: #dfc11b; FONT-FAMILY: verdana, arial, lucida sans; TEXT-DECORATION: none
}
BODY
{SCROLLBAR-FACE-COLOR: #1662b8; FONT-WEIGHT: normal;
FONT-SIZE: 8pt; MARGIN: 10px; SCROLLBAR-HIGHLIGHT-COLOR: #dfc11b;
SCROLLBAR-SHADOW-COLOR: #dfc11b; COLOR: #dfc11b; SCROLLBAR-3DLIGHT-COLOR: #000000;
SCROLLBAR-ARROW-COLOR: #000000; SCROLLBAR-TRACK-COLOR: #000000;
FONT-FAMILY: verdana, arial, lucida sans; SCROLLBAR-DARKSHADOW-COLOR: #000000;
LETTER-SPACING: 1pt; background-image: url(blacktri.gif);
}
</STYLE>

Thanks.

Do you have the image uploaded? The code seems fine to me.

On the sig, everything is disabled but smilies.

What exactly do you want as your background?

If it's the blacktri.gif, if you go to http://www.users.kconline.com/vicary/flowergarden/blacktri.gif
it's not there.

Where did you upload it?

I have it all uploaded, but where the css says: url(blacktri.gif);
Should I have put my actual url in place of that?
Such as:
http://www.users.kconline.com/vicary/flowergarden/flowergarden.html(blacktri.gif);

As for my signature on these forums...
I don't understand why that is not working either (see below).

We posted at the same time above...

On the sig, everything is disabled but smilies.

You can't use html, you can't use the vb codes.

that the vb code is ON?

Doesn't that mean that you can use the vb code for your signature in the user cp?

It's on here in the forum but when you go to your control panel, to your profile to add the signature, it says html off, [image] code off, vbcode off, smilies on.

background showing up (http://members.kconline.com/vicary/flowergarden/flowergarden.html)

My problem was that it was in another folder. Thank you as I didn't realize what I was doing til you posted the link to show me my graphic was not there. Then a bright light went on! LOL
Thank you again.

Still don't get the signature thing yet though...LOL

Cool for the background

for your signature...you can't use the vbcodes or html for it, just text and the smilies.
