I'm having problems getting an address bar icon on my site to reliably show.

I have the following on my webpage, www.davidr.com/pde --

(link REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="favicon.ico")

This is placed directly after the (/TITLE) tag.

I use Mozilla Firebird as my browser. Sometimes the icon shows, and sometimes it doesn't. On IE, it never shows up for me.

Any advice?

It only shows up in mozzila firebird if I use tabs or if I use http://greatdave.org/pde/ and not http://greatdave.org//pde/ what my browser put, and it doesn't show in IE.
