You know if you take a picture like from gettyimages.com ?? well if you include it in your layouts then say with thanks to getty images..could you be sued for that? I thought it was pretty fair but maybe not...also I don't wanna be sued so that's why I'm asking..hehe

if it specifically says you may use that image, then it is OK.

if it does not say anything then it is automatically copywrite under their terms. you must ask permission from them first before using anything from their site.

Normally you have to gain written consent from the author.

I'm not sure but you may be able to e-mail the author, that may be ok lawfully.

I think as long as you have proof that they have given you permision, then its ok.

Is it REALLY really under your copyright if you made it and didn't get it copyrighted officially? Then you can't sue someone for it, or? I mean if it's not official

i think copywrite is established depending on the country you reside in.

yes, you may officially pay a fee to have your work copywritten, but essentially, once you produce something that is unique in some way, you own copywrite to that product as intellectual property. having a piece of paper does help if it comes to a court battle though.

dont quote me on any of this though. i really dont know about the officiality of it all. perhaps do a search in the goodies or general forum for a brighter aspect of the subject.

the only way to sue someone for copyright infringment is if you have it on paper. you may put some text that says that your content is copyrighted but you cant sue someone if you dont have it on paper.
